Magento 1 vs Magento 2
Magento 2 is a reality.From its launch in November 2015 there have been stability enhancements and although there has not been a significant change on functionalities from a user point of view, it has been a great move forward for the online shop itself (code structure).
However moving from version 1 to version 2 it’s not that easy.
Version 1 of Magento has been running for 10 years and was born as an open source software. Anyone (with minimum code knowledge) could download and modify Magento (community version) to make it compatible with their own need in the eCommerce environment.
There is a quite big Magento community that implement adapts, extensions, modifications and continuous enhancements making the platform possibilities bigger.
On the other hand, though, it is getting old and needs to adapt to last technologies.
Magento 2 is a younger software and it adapts better to last technologies, it offers a strong backoffice, which is more visual and intuitive, based on Symphony.
However, the exiting community (developers working with it) is shorter.
